Master Facility Planning

The Master Facilities Planning Process is designed to engage the community in a decision-making process regarding future academic programming and facility planning for the Pleasant Local School District. The Master Facilities Plan is not a levy campaign. It is a 6 month process designed to obtain feedback from the community to help the Superintendent, Treasurer, and Board of Education create a long term financial plan.

Feedback received from this process will be used to help the Board of Education and District Leadership make decisions regarding immediate and future district priorities.

The Academic Visioning Committee served as the launching point for future facility planning!

Academic Visioning

The purpose of this committee was to analyze employment trends of the current and future labor market, reflect upon how the rapid growth of
technology impacts education, and to prioritize future academic experiences for our K-12 students.

It was determined that there were 3 outcomes our students need.

Outcomes

Building Facility

The purpose of this committee was to develop a comprehensive understanding of the current state of our facilities and make informed recommendations to the Board. To accomplish this, the committee analyzed the state of our current facilities and evaluated their ability to implement the findings of the Academic Visioning Committee. Additionally, the committee reviewed the analysis of our facilities provided by the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission (OFCC) and provided feedback to the Board regarding the possibility of utilizing the monies awarded to Pleasant Local. Finally, the committee explored options for new construction and/or renovation.

Financial Advisory

The function of this Advisory Board is to review the current financial status of the district, synthesize the results of the Academic Visioning Committee and Building Facilities Teams, and provide financial expertise to the Community Engagement Series Committee and the Board of Education.
